Congratulations to the 2008 National Phi Beta Award Winners!

Phi Beta recognizes the talents of our members, and every Convention celebrates these talents with awards. The 2008 National Award recipients are:

PRESIDENT'S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE:
Awarded to members for specific achievement and service to the fraternity.
Gay Ross-Clunis, Pi Alpha Upsilon Chapter, Newport News/Williamsburg, VA, for starting a new alumni chapter
Cora Willett, Pi Epsilon Alpha Chapter - e-Chapter, for work above and beyond National Council duties.

ALUMNI CHAPTER AWARD:
A National Council Award; a monetary award given to an alumni chapter which has exhibited outstanding achievement.
Pi Alpha Upsilon, Newport News/Williamsburg, VA.

NATIONAL HISTORIAN AWARD:
Awarded to historians/members for superior contributions to fraternity publications
Bernice DuLong, Pi Alpha Theta Chapter, Los Angeles, CA
Sylvia Crowell, Pi Iota Chapter, Los Angeles CA.

COLLEGIATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:
Monetary award given to a collegiate member who has not only exhibited artistic talent, but has also displayed exemplary abilities in living a life of service. National Council was pleased to award a high honorable mention:
Natalie West, Phi Chapter, Capital University, Columbus, Ohio.

LEADERSHIP AWARD:
Award given to a collegiate member in recognition of outstanding leadership and a demonstration of integrity within Phi Beta.

Mary Anne Edmiston, Phi Chapter, Capital University, Columbus, Ohio


ESTHER KELLOGG-SCHULZ ALUMNI GRANT:
Grant awarded to an alumni member to assist in furthering professional endeavors.
Nancy Schuman, Pi Alpha Sigma Chapter, Cleveland, Ohio

JACK E. BLAKE PATRON AWARD:
Award given to a Phi Beta patron who has generously shared both time and talent with Phi Beta members.
Alvin Mills, Pi Alpha Theta Chapter, Los Angeles, CA

HELENGRACE WARWICK AWARD:
Award given to an alumni member who has steadfastly and continuously lived a life of service. The recipient of this award must have also exhibited special cooperation with National Council within his/her lifelong years of service.
Eleanor Hughes, Pi Alpha Theta Chapter, Los Angeles, California.
